Creamy Chocolate Covered Almond Coconut Ice Cream Bars

It wasn't until I had my daughter that I started to become aware of almond milk. I never really cared for cow's milk and didn't like the way it made me so gassy. {T.M.I? My bad}

So, when I started to see how many wonderfully delicious recipes there are out there using it I really got excited!!

With summer in full swing and the heat beating at our doors, this recipe by Faith Filled Food for Moms is a MUST TRY!!

She is so awesome there is even a printable version of her recipe!! How thoughtful!

Tips for Finding the Right Caregiver

Finding the right person to care for your children while you're away from home can be a daunting and sometimes a stressful task. Use these five tips to help find the perfect sitter for you and your family:

1. Set your priorities
What's most important to you and your family? Ask questions related to your parenting style to address topics such as discipline, safety, learning activities, and engagement.

2. Discuss the job basics
You should treat this interview like any other job interview and discuss pay, vacation, sick time, hours and schedule, etc. Laying out these details in advance will provide clear expectations on both sides, as well as help avoid future issues.

3. Come up with an appropriate pay rate
Nanny and sitter pay rates depend on many different factors. Is your nanny full-time or part-time? Do you live in a city or out in the suburbs? How many kids do you have and what are their ages? A good way to determine the going rate in your specific area is to ask around to find out what other families in your area are paying.

4. Listen to your instincts
When you talk to a candidate, try to get a good sense of their personality. Trust your initial instincts on whether a potential nanny would be a good fit or not.

5. Practice open communication
In any successful working relationship, communication is essential. Issues often arise when clear expectations are not set from the start. If you're uptight about a spotless house, say so. If you’re a stickler for teeth brushing, say so. The easiest way to avoid this is to discuss all relevant topics during the interview, and again after they've been hired.

NEW website and $1000 Cash Giveaway

The temperature is warming up, the kids are graduating at school and the summer festival season is officially about to begin!!

I'm only particiating in one festival this summer and it is only two weeks away! With the launch of my new website, working on the continued development of my new doll line and creating product for the festival there is no way I could handle more than one.

So what better what to start the summer off than helping sponsor and awesome cash giveaway to help make someone else's summer one they won't forget.

New Website

So I mentioned my new website. I'm super excited about it. I've been working on it for a few months now. It will feature products from my Etsy shop as well as some unique just site. Even more excitingly, I will begin selling fabric this summer. Yippie!!

How exciting is that, huh?! I'm pretty stoked. Although I live in Philly, the closest main stream fabric shops are 30-45 minutes away depending on traffic. When all you need is a yard or two of something, that's a huge inconvenience and I end up buying more stuff than I need. ...Can you relate?

So, I'm hoping to start out online only and hopefully in the next year or two open a small store front on Manayunk's Main Street....that's the name of our neighborhood. Our neighborhood is rich with artists of various disciplines. We have a yarn shop and artist co-working/co-retail business in town, but not supplies store. I hope to fill that role before anyone does.

Aside from contributing to the needs of my town, successfully building this venture in both the fabric shop and my Etsy boutique fills a bigger need of fulfilling a lifelong need to prove myself. To prove to myself that I can become successful without the assistance of a man. I am a very strong woman, but this is one area I have yet to achieve.

So, I thank you for stopping by my blog and I hope you stop by my site to check it out. Unfortunately, I haven't ordered my first order of fabric yet. However, I will be offering incentives to the first people to order from me. So, please be sure to follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to be the first to know of when that changes!

In the mean time, here's a screen shot of the new site. What do you think?
